Vacuum packing

In the food industry, vacuum packing is an important step in packaging that ensures the integrity of a product, extending its shelf life, and maintaining its overall quality while the package is unopened and within expiry date. The objective is mainly to remove as much air from the package as possible since oxygen will eventually stimulate mold or bacterial growth. 

During the process, air is eliminated from the pack (usually made of a plastic material), then the pack is machine-sealed so air or foreign matter cannot penetrate it. Vacuum sealing is used for grains, beans, cereal and other dry products, although some machines can do wet or powder products. For meat products, vacuum sealing slows the growth of microorganisms; frozen foods are less likely to freeze burn because airtight sealed packaging limits crystals formation.

Depending on the type of products that need to be packed, there is a bag sealer, vacuum sealing, band sealing machine that can do the job, and within the right price points.

In Taiwan, one of the vacuum sealing specialists is Wu-Hsing Electronics Co. Ltd, a company established in 1991. For example, model LMV-6010TG Vacuum Sealer is designed for packing goods like green coffee beans, tea leaves, meat products, seeds, and even bigger and heavier products outside of F&B needs. There is no bag length limit for this vacuum sealer which comes with a stainless-steel retractable nozzle, a smart control system, and an oil- less pump. Two sealing bars ensure greater heat penetration when sealing thicker materials. 

The LMV-6010TG is also made for packaging moisture barrier bag materials including coffee bags, tea bags, gusseted bags, and Mylar. 

Wu-Hsing’s SY-M905 vertical band sealer is for sealing bags containing liquid, powder or grit. 
The machine can also be used for large packages or products that can’t be sealed horizontally. The variable conveyor belt speed is adjustable (1-10M) to accommodate materials of various thickness, and the distance between bag opening and product is within 35mm. The height of head part is adjustable around 500mm, while sealing width is 5mm (for bags with PE, PP materials); 10mm (for bags with nylon, alum. foil, karft paper materials)
