We've interviewed leading companies in their own sectors including the Cama Group, a global manufacturer of high-tech secondary packaging systems which is increasing its presence in China and the rest of Asia. See our previous post on this company, and a video interview with Mr Ke Da, managing of Cama Asia.

Also for packaging, we sought ALPLA regarding its ventures in recycling. The company teamed up with PTT Global Chemical (GC) to conduct a study on investing in the first high-quality circular plastic recycling plant in Thailand, for such materials as rPET and rHDPE. It will be opening its processing plant in Thailand soon.

The move acknowledges the growing demand for recycled plastics in Southeast Asia. “In particular, excellent quality of recyclates plays a big role,” says ALPLA Regional Manager Bernd Wachter. “We have expertise in the manufacture of food-grade recyclates and we are experts in the processing of these materials into new packaging. Together with GC, we could implement a flagship initiative for the country and the entire region.” Get the full story here.

In snacks and confectionery, Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen GmbH (WDS) is setting its sights on the growing nutraceuticals market in Asia. The confectionery machine supplier from Germany can handle the entire range of deposited sweets with different applications and throughputs, with complete development of individual OTC sweets with exact dosage of active ingredients.

“We see a huge growth potential in this market and, with our technology and experience, are equipped to serve the growing demand for both traditional confectionery and OTC-type products,” said Waldemar Heinrich, Area Sales Manager at WDS. Check out the report on WDS
